The MendHall Manifesto

Our pledge to the people who post the work and the people who do it. Version 1.0 · 16 September 2026

A home is the most personal thing most of us will ever own. Trusting someone to work on it — or trusting someone to pay fairly for that work — should never be a gamble. MendHall.com exists to take the gamble out of it. This Manifesto states, in plain and formal terms, what we stand for, what we promise, and what we expect in return.

I. We are the hall, not the hands

MendHall.com is a meeting place. We connect homeowners, property managers and businesses with the tradespeople and companies who mend, maintain and renovate. The agreements reached here belong to the people who make them. We are not a party to your contracts, and we are not responsible for the actions of other users. We say this openly, because honesty about our role is the first condition of your trust.

II. We take no cut — ever

MendHall.com does not take a percentage of any job. Not on the bid, not on the invoice, not on the down payment. Our only income is a transparent subscription fee. Every dinar and euro you agree with your counterpart stays between the two of you.

We chose this model deliberately. A platform that earns a commission has an incentive to inflate prices and to push volume over quality. A platform funded by subscriptions has only one incentive: to be so useful, safe and fair that professionals gladly keep paying for it. That is the platform we are building.

III. We reinvest in professionals

Subscription revenue is not profit to be extracted; it is the fund from which we build. It pays for better job matching, calendars and work orders, electronic invoicing, verification tools, dispute support, multilingual access and every future service that helps a professional user win more of the right work with less friction. Our stated ambition is to become the market leader in home-services marketplaces — and we intend to earn that position by serving professionals better than anyone else.

IV. We support cooperation

Good cooperation is not an accident; it is designed. We give both sides the same tools: clear job scopes, written bids, agreed deadlines, mutual ratings, and a record of what was said and when. When cooperation falters, we do not walk away. Within the limits of the law and our Terms, we help preserve the record, facilitate communication, and point the way to a fair resolution.

V. We watch, strictly and impartially

Freedom from commission does not mean freedom from rules. We monitor the Platform continuously — through automated systems and a human customer-service team — for fraud, fake identities, manipulated ratings, harassment, unsafe or unlicensed work and attacks on our security. Every report is read. Every report is answered. And the rules apply to everyone equally: a premium subscription buys better tools, never a lighter standard.

VI. We protect your security

Your account, your data and your conversations are protected with industry-standard measures, and we treat every reported vulnerability as urgent. We process personal data lawfully, transparently and only for the purpose of running and improving the Platform, in line with Serbian data-protection law and the GDPR.

VII. We sanction bad practice without exception

All inappropriate behaviour is sanctioned. Deception, abuse, rating manipulation, non-payment schemes, unsafe work and security attacks lead to warnings, restrictions, suspension or permanent removal — and, where the law requires, to referral to the competent authorities. We would rather have fewer users than tolerate one who harms the rest.

VIII. We celebrate good practice

Rules alone do not build a culture. We recognise and promote the users who show up on time, describe work honestly, pay promptly, review fairly and treat others with respect. On MendHall.com, a good reputation is earned in the open and is worth more than any advertisement.

IX. What we ask of you

  • Be truthful about who you are, what you need and what you can do.
  • Honour what you agree — scope, price, deadline and payment.
  • Communicate early when something changes.
  • Rate honestly; your review guides the next person.
  • Report what looks wrong. You protect the whole community when you do.

X. Our measure of success

We do not measure ourselves by the number of jobs posted. We measure ourselves by the satisfaction of the people on both ends of every one of them: the homeowner whose home is better than before, and the professional who was treated fairly and paid on time. When both are satisfied, MendHall.com has done its job.
